ABOUT REYNAN

Reynan Castro’s journey is defined by courage, discipline, and a lifelong passion for art. Before becoming a tattoo artist, he served as a city rescuer and firefighter—roles that demanded steady hands, focus, and bravery. These same qualities now define his work in tattooing.

His path into the industry began in 2014, sparked by a friend’s encouragement and his exposure to the competitive tattoo scene at the Dutdutan Tattoo Convention. Already skilled in pencil and charcoal drawing, as well as henna art, Reynan found a new purpose in tattooing—despite originally pursuing a different path in nursing.

Over more than a decade, Reynan has developed a versatile skill set across multiple styles, including linework, neo-traditional, traditional, colored realism, and black & grey realism. His strengths lie in linework and neo-traditional designs, where his precision and confidence are most evident. Alongside tattooing, he has also mastered the craft of piercing.

Guided by his mentor Chock Magdaraog, Reynan refined both his technique and artistic identity. His dedication has led him to compete locally and internationally, earning recognition in events across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines, including Dutdutan and Ligligan.

For over six years, Reynan has been part of Needle Z, continuously growing as an artist and building lasting connections with his clients. Beyond his achievements, he considers his greatest accomplishment to be fatherhood—drawing strength and purpose from his family.

Grounded in resilience and humility, Reynan lives by the principles:
